History Statement:

"Pilipino-Americans in Social Studies (PASS) was first conceptualized by Daniel Santos, who questioned why there was no Filipino club covering the Social Sciences when a third of the Filipinos at UCI were in the Schools of Social Sciences and Social Ecology. On March 4, 2004, PASS was formerly registered to the Dean of Students and has, since then, grown at a rapid pace. Since then, PASS has established multiple conferences and programs, including the Conference for Asian-Pacific Pre-Professionalism (CAPP), Pursuing Your Passion (PYP), the Professional Academic Exchange (PAX), and The Compassion Project. PASS, through its community-oriented as well as pre-professional programs, has reached out to students of all cultures, backgrounds, and majors."

Mission Statement:
"Pilipino-Americans in Social Studies (PASS) is an organization that focuses on fields relating to business, law, the social sciences, and social ecology. PASS is a "community within a community" striving to increase the representation of Pilipinos/Filipinos and other minorities within professional industries while providing a social support network that promotes academic excellence, career development, community involvement, and leadership opportunities for students in the UC Irvine and Pilipino/Filipino communities."
