Tips on Making Your Org More Visible

Some orgs are not on this listing, due to insufficient information available online. Some orgs that are on this list have very little info, due again to the same problem of incomplete information. This is unfortunate, as Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders are already facing issues of invisibility. And so, for those orgs that would like to be on this list or else want their org to have more info featured, consider adopting the following tips:

1) Create an official website if you haven't already (recommended tool to use: wix.com or weebly.com). I would advise against having a Facebook group or profile act as a substitute for an original website. Also, once you have a website, be sure to actually fill it up with events, info, and words. I have in fact encountered a number of "empty" official websites and they make me sad every time.

2) Establish a social media presence by either creating a Facebook page or an Instagram site, or, better yet, both.

3) Be sure to continually update your website and social media sites. Actively maintaining your website and sites with fresh events, news, and pictures from recent club activities demonstrates to everyone that you care and have great pride for your organization. It will also show that your org is "alive" and not "dead" or "discontinued."

4) Display your organization's history (if possible) on your site, or at the very least display the basic info of the year the org was founded and who founded it.

5) Make it clear what your annual events and weekly events are. Best way to do this: just use the words "annual" and "weekly" for the proper events.

6) Create a unique symbol/logo for your organization and use it for every official site. Need ideas? Just look at the ones on this website's homepage.

7) Lastly, post pictures of your big events, like Culture Night, dance performances, outreach programs, etc. Some outside people may want a window into what your org looks like at its best.
